Polar Tears

Tears of the frozen north,
nature’s  offering here brought forth,
of wintry skies and trembling clouds,
a weaver of white and bantam shrouds,

a floating down with the melodic wind
of a choir of angels, a zealous requiem,
to the warm summer days all gone by
and the days ahead of a cold-bearing sky,

a remorseful blowing from the polar beast,
to the land down under in the chosen east,
a regretful act of nature all these years,
to dampen the spirits with such polar tears,
but alas, an inching toward our spring again,
the warming of the tears
coming around the bend.
