Summer’s Tears

Summer’s tears fall upon the leaves
And lay in fear of the autumn breeze
That ushers in the cool nights,
Performing such early October rites
Of turning the leaves to yellow and red
As summer grows tired and goes to bed.

The dancing leaves shall dance no more,
Falling to the ground unto autumn’s lore.
But fear not thy lover of summer scenes.
Autumn’s lore shall bring back the greens
As the seasons ever turn around the sun
To send the pangs of winter on the run.
