The Great Work

As the inhabitants of one little village were dying one after another from a mysterious virus, there seemed to be no hope for a cure and prevention for this disease.
One morning as the owner of the little village’s only pharmacy arrived at work, he found a package lying in front of the door. There was a label on it that read, “Use this drug to cure the disease that is killing everyone in the village.” There was no return address or name on it. He then got a hold of the FDA and they sent someone to find out if it worked. After experimenting on lab animals, then in turn, patients, it seemed to work. Then they began a mass distribution to all other countries in the world that were afflicted with that same disease.
Then one day at the same pharmacy in the little village, another package showed up with another label that read, “Now use this as a vaccine to inject everyone.” Since the first medicine worked, the FDA was convinced of its credibility, and in turn mass produced it to use as a vaccine, and it also worked.
Where did this mysterious package that showed up at the door of the pharmacy come from? How did it get there? Was it from a human being? Was it from a supernatural source? Nobody will ever know who delivered or who invented the medicine inside. Someone of great works must have saved the world from total annihilation. Who it was will never be known. Yes, miracles do still happen in these trying times.

I guess in these days, you have to be optimistic.
