The Scattering

Chariots of springtime in the air unseen
Blowing with the wind in quiet green

Lightly with the wind beneath their wings
Dancing in the glen as the zephyr sings

Pollen scattered throughout the heart of day
To the fruitless fields and further away

To the ends of the Earth from winter’s wake
Laying down as the soothing winds overtake

A settling down in fields of future’s barley
Giving life with a new spirit running free

A sacred rite in the eyes of the sun
An eternal rendezvous since time begun

A landing from where the soft winds blew
A scattering of the pollen to a life anew
