The Silver Spoon

The Silver Spoon

It travels through familiar lands
Guided by neatly manicured hands
Never goes anywhere near the bottom
Life is easy struggles forgotten

Forever fed by silver spoons
In houses equipped with fifty rooms
Looking at poverty with haughty eyes
Soaring high as the eagle flies

Generations of beauty on display
Life is on a flamboyant holiday
Beauty attracts everyone of its kind
Showpieces waiting to be enshrined

But life goes missing at the upper loft
Passion fades when life’s too soft
Then silver spoons lose their glitter
Life is a mixture of sweet and bitter

Oh to be touched by
Dreams, ambition, and passion
