The Treaty

The Treaty

War has ended and all is well
A flimsy piece of paper
Ended all resentments
The enemy is still the same, but
Close contact softens the hostility
The enemy is just like you and me

We have the same needs and dreams
Our different faiths and beliefs
Are much the same
We both love God and through Him
We love one another

War is ended and all is well
A piece of paper brought us together
A piece of paper forced
Us to love each other
But the loving was done through us
With our familiarity with the enemy
And not that flimsy piece of paper
