The Velvet Pathway

The Velvet Pathway

Young man, why hang your head so low?
When out of wealth we watched you grow?
With your physical attributes so magnetic
Your charming language, a love story so poetic

We see the girls smile when you walk by
With a warming glance and a big deep sigh
With the world in your hands, why so sad?
I wasn’t so lucky when I was a young lad

Your nanny’s so good when we are away
She’s been like a mother come what may
Your velvet pathway lies ahead of you
We’re not there, but what can we do?

Life is lonely for those who are wealthy
And for those who have to be so busy
We need you and you need us
Don’t be so sad
Someday we’ll meet again
