Winter’s Harbinger

“I am the harbinger sent from the north,
Attired in icy clothes on this day forth.
I hide in a polar mountain’s crevasse,
Then in November I spread my frost.
Over country sides and eagle’s nest,
I blow on surfaces with my frigid breath.

I proclaim that winter soon will follow
With all the might it would allow,
Until enough is enough until all is content,
To look at the beauty that heaven sent.
An ode to the greening from the springtime rains,
As each season comes forth
As a harbinger to the next.”

As featured in "The Belt and Beyond."
