Bars In The Night

And so how did I end up here?
Alone warped and smoking alone,
The light reflects off the empty walls,
Plaster white with cracks and holes,
Electricity palpitating from the dead snow,
Television,

And so how did I end up here,
Amidst the rug covered in decay,
No bookshelves and novels,
To teach better things within better days,
What will show me the way,
Television,

And so, how did I end up here,
Swung and hallowed in pity and despair,
The light bulb snaps in a shower of fire,
And only darkness remains,
And though dark remains, I pray for light,
A spark, a light, a chance,
So I can no longer wonder why I ended up here,
And sleep I guess,
What else is there?
