Blindness (Spark in Darkness)

If I could only go blind for a day,
Not to be bombarded by the coming day,
Colors, trees, blades of grass,
Drifting, swaying, the way the must do,
Oh so naturally,

If I could only go blind for a day,
Not to be engrossed by foolish society
People, ideals, philosophical,
Notions written on walls, so plainly,
Oh so naturally,

If I could just go blind for a day,
Not to be attacked by untamed perception,
Space, time, length of distance,
Between you and I, oh my sweet one,
Distant oh so naturally,

I open my eyes, tiredly but expectant,
For all these things must exist,
And have been wondered by for centuries,
Yes, I open my eyes, swollen and strung out,
From emotions felt but unreal,
From what must translated from others,
To my saddened soul to keep,
The confusion dogs at bay,
“Mutiny from stern to bow”,
A friend reminds me,
Oh how does it feel to be free?

If I could just go blind for one day,
What would I hear?
What would I understand?
What would I feel?
What would I realize?
Oh yes, If I could go blind for one day,
Perhaps all those conflicts,
All those questions,
All those quandaries,
Plaguing generations of explorers,
Mathematicians, Philosophers, and Insane ones,
Would bring about a silhouetted knowledge,
To bring back love to the light,
And hate back to dark,
Oh yes, If I could be blind for a day,
Perhaps, I could ignite a spark...
