God Has Left Me For The Sea

Don’t look at me,
Don’t even say a word,
Nothing can be heard, in these hallways,
Nothing can be spoken in this opera house,
The lights just hang and the music just plays,
And everything at the end of the day,
Remains the same,

My walking shoes are tired,
And the ground beneath is fresh,
I can’t see where I’m headed,
And I can’t catch my breath,
And doors are banging and screaming in my head,
There are so many faces and places,
I wish to never see again,

The planks of wood on these stages,
Are soaked with titan’s words,
So who am I?
Flung from the ages, turning so many pages,
Feeling the bird cages and all the strangled sounds of their young voices,
Playing over and over again,
On repeat,
While I enjoy a meal,
Because I have no time to eat,

So much description,
It’s hard to encapsulate,
While the laughing clowns,
Think they share the same fate,
And they’re idiot smiles,
Only make me want to sleep,
So much talking and no walking,
Perhaps I’d like to weep,

I can honestly say I write for no reason,
It just happens without planning,
Like a bomb sent with eyes closed,
From the Pentagon before demanding,
And the nights are long, in their midnight glow,
Dreaming of futures days of love and flow,
And waking to light before I even know,
I am back at the desk,
Going through the pages of my life’s show,
Wondering how the end will be?
So much time has past,
With so much more to go,
Do I want to stay in this lobby?
Or go out with the windblow?

Don’t look to me for questions,
Don’t look at my for time,
Don’t look at me for reason,
And do not look at me for rhyme,
Don’t look to me and say,” I see the ghosts in your eyes,”
Don’t look at me and say,” I understand these lines”
Don’t look at me and say,” I wish people would be different,”
And I won’t look at you and say,
I wish you were too,
I just would like to be free,
But God has left me for the sea…
