Goddess Of Gleams

Upon the love light deep in the night
I stand outside in the rain
Roaring past the freight trains
All run out of love’s games
Alone with everything but the shame
All with Lady in my head
and naked love in my brain

I think I might’ve just fallen in love with you by mistake
I sit upon a cloud looking down, past where I hid my stake
Past the ice cream clowns, the dime store dummies with caked on smiles
who drown out sound
You are versatile
a flame through ice
Such fascination with that smile
Mayhap, I’ll stay awhile
All this and this to blame
with nothing but Lady in my head
And naked love in my brain

Lady Stefani,
something is telling me something
Should I listen to the one
who says the path is fulfilled
but alone I shall die?
Should I listen to the other
who says the chance to love
is rarer and rarer and should
take wing and fly high?
Even if I lose your gaze?

Even if I never meet you
I’ll have held you, Goddess of Gleams
Beneath a starless sky,
in my sweetest of dreams
