I Never Want To Sleep Again

I never want to sleep again
see her eyes, face, her love within
See her motion, grace, pain, and sin
See her come, go, start and begin
My heart boils, desire shall not abate
shaking my soul like a roaring earthquake
Deliberate love is like stupidity frozen
I never want to sleep again

I never want to dream again
for the pain of love, loss is crystalline
The dew of first frost
heavy like chains with acid pain
My love is a drop amidst the rain
on a ship with no destination
On the bow, I make this declaration
“To the sea, I face the end!”
I never want to sleep again

I never want to see again
the smell of woman
Crisp, gentle, clean!
The yearning of love
breaking the seam!
Seeing golden eyes with diamonds in between
Softest skin in sunlight’s gleam,
bringing love close, closer than it’s ever been
breaking the realms and bringing the end!
I never want to see again

I never want to dream again
of the girl I lost to war in L.A.
Dreaming of that morning, saying I’ll stay
Saying, “I love you, I won’t go away.”
I’ll need not give you what I left
I’ll never have to kiss another with regret
I’ll never have been that man
who will die with a pen in his hand
writing letters to you from so far away
chasing ghosts hoping I’ll see you again some day
Perhaps, I am broken, this be my curse laid bare
Dreaming I stayed with you, going anywhere
I am who I am, I made what I made
Dreaming of you like a poet renegade
And as we were born, we will die again
I never want to sleep again
