Lonesome Guitarist Blues

I tickled steel strings while she watched softly
I sang to the crowd but the song was hers only
The shadows played tricks in the smoke light
Igniting her eyes for me to see and make right
All I sang and wrote for in my darkest night
And In my brightest day blinded by sight
The guitar sang and I just swayed
The way love will do you that way
But the song wasn’t done yet
So she remained, and I just played

I sang the song slow with her in the shadows
Bellowing love’s desire to all four corners
The bar was quiet like when snow falls
Even Pericles the drunk was done with it all
Sitting up on his horse like a doctor on call
Watching my love creation for you doll
Lord Byron and Ginsberg stand in back tall
But Shakespeare is drunk and can’t help but fall
In love with you through my song
He couldn’t handle your gall
But the song was almost over
So she remained, she was my all

Now as the song faded, I finished my tale
The G Chord final blast echoed in the silence
I held my breath in space so deep,
It was all silence, followed by a chorus
The lights went down with ignorance
And I could find you at last
No future or past
I needn’t look from lass to lass
Based off what I think of their ass
Or style or overmedicated class
I looked to see as I lay my guitar down
And I find you are nowhere to be found
You must have fled
Gone on the heels of the night
Looking for more than I have to offer
In the lone moonlight
So only I remained
And the song is over now
Storm boats clash in my heart bow to bow
You left at the interim
And with all the universe attached
The song I play begins again
