Most Beautiful Thing

For an old girl I used to know

She is the most beautiful thing
She wears a crown, a diamond ring
She walks in light, waits upon wings
in the moonlight that spreads, and so flies
from all pain and lies to my eyes
that like glass, shatters into beauty
and in my heart, resides
She is the original one
She who,
poets and artists from every single age
sought out to encase in clay
Timeless she is upon the stage
of the opera house of my fate
tickling heart strings till I fade away
and although we kissed once,
She is immortalized
Effortless is her beauty, the classic of our times
She who is fit for an unknown king
She is the most beautiful thing

I laid her down on my bed
kissed her slowly, sweetly
upon the head
Each moment frozen in time
No words to speak, no words to rhyme
In her eyes I saw paradise
She who doesn’t see herself true
She who feels pain more than most do
She who breathes for life and inspires fires of desire
She, who is a queen but feels completely alone
She tiptoes upon fields of snow
leaving behind emeralds, rubies, and gold
for any person who wishes to find home
In my arms, she lay alone
In space and time,
Aphrodite’s clone
Although I held her once
I will never forget her touch
Infinity caught in a blink
She is the most beautiful thing

Her lips
Her hips
Her eyes
Her sighs
Her grace
Her face
Her kiss
Everything I miss
Now she is gone
left on a ship
for a new world
where only she can reside
no space for more but that’s alright
I can dream, create, and write
but never perfect an image of her right
She has to be seen
She is a dream
Something stolen from ages ago
living in present times flow
These words are a symbol of what she brings
to earth every time she wakes from sleep’s glow
A perfect sunrise and sunset I haven’t known
Her name in eternity will ring
She is the most beautiful thing
