Pa & Ma
to my mother, and my father
she had squeezed me out during a summer night
i had cried in pain when the lights shined
took me home with a blanket nice and tight
didn’t know if my time was right
but held me close in the sparkling sky
my first word was mom
cause pa was a long way gone
stood up reaching for your hand
took my first steps, only you were proud
and the echo in my head beats
my first day of school
Pa yelled “boo”
cause my hiccups were making me nervous
Pa left me astonished
everyday & night i had seen you there for me
but each day i see her crying for you
my wonders were asking me why
but my answers were only fights and cries
one day she was gone, no where to be found
i sat in my room, couldn’t stop crying
then you took me to the store, for some crayons
whispered something that will never leave me
Yet will beat louder..
she was back, always full of opportunities, never rejection
accepted you with hopes to never have to seek only for your reflection
thought you would hold on
my eyes only met the lights shine
never the dark lines
but now i see you were always in your world,
though with me, things were always so bold
i’ll never blame you
you still loved us more
those words, that smile, your dance
beats louder and louder, never stops
her love for you never changed
and that love will never weaken
I hope you always remain within me
cause I wouldn’t know how to stand ground
without you being around, this beats louder
try not to leave me here alone pa.
