Shattered pieces

So you try to move on
And one day you do,
And then feel like everything’s at lost.
You turn left and they judge you,
Saying,
why do you go in that direction,
You go right,
where the crowd is,
And they start saying why are you following them.
You just can’t please these people?
Why would you want too anyway?
All they do is take your stuff,
Throw it on the floor,
Spit on it,
Stomp on it,
Step on it,
And then walk away as of nothing ever happened.
You pick up the only pieces that are left.
Hoping something may still be intact.
You discover it’s all crap.
And then leave it as that.
You start carrying the broken pieces where ever you go.
In hopes that one day they will be restored.
But your dreams were just destroyed,
By that kid that took your stuff and stomped it on the floor.
He said you weren’t good enough,
But hey,
who cares, right?
You’re already shattered, what is there more to break?
You see no hope,
And seek no help.
You go home and your daddy sees the broken shell.
He takes it from you
and asks,
“What happened?”
And then you tell him
“As if you don’t know!
You were right there when it all happened!”
Then He says
“My child, I know I was..,”
“Than why didn’t you do anything at all!”
“Because these broken pieces will take you far!”
And you stay silence.
How can these pieces take you anywhere at all?
Then you see your Father lay the pieces flat out
and starts puzzling them together.
It makes a map that you have to follow.
He says..,
“Just because it’s shattered,
doesn’t mean it can’t be fix.
And just because it’s broken,
doesn’t mean it’s no use.”
Standing amazed you don’t know what to say.
So you take what was broken and make use of it.
It leads you to places you never expected or imagined.
And you start to think,
Sometimes being broken, is worth it.
