Blue haired girl

She began to think;
She couldn’t stop.
Her world grew black and big around her,
Colouring her in.
Suddenly, she wasn’t sure what was real anymore
What was good or bad.?
Everything seemed unfamiliar
And everyone seemed strangers.
She tried shaking herself
To rid herself from the darkness.
But it only etched in deeper
Deep inside. Through bones.
She waits a while, paralysed.
Unable to move she calls out:
'Help me! I don’t know what to do!'
But no one hears.
Fearing all around her;
she feels and stumbles so she might stand.
Pitch blackness fills her eyes...
Starting to run;
Heart beating a rhythm
Feeling alive once more,
She creates a space between herself
And all the blackness.
Breaking away, finally to find,
She’s not in that picture anymore!
Looking down at herself,
She feels relieved she got out unscathed;
And proud
She did it on her own.
But somethings not quite the same,
she’s not the way she was.
She’s changed.
She can feel it, they can feel it.
Her hair once golden,
Has turned pale blue.
