The Metal Machine

Tears rolling heavy down my cheeks
There’s a million people here right now
But I’ve never felt so alone.
I can’t tell you why I’m crying
But If I didn’t cry,
I fear, my dear,
I would turn numb
Like gums at the dentist.
My heart would freeze over
Like all these souls before me.
Robotic souls,
Boarded on this deaf and speechless metal monster,
Rushing across sore tracks
No one makes eye contact,
I could slice the speechless air with a paper clip.
My eyes grow heavier with weariness as each stop splutters on.
They appear silently
And they disappear without  saying goodbye.
