LOVE THY NEIGHBOR
Hate surrounds their lives.
It is in what they say or do.
She doesn’t relish living this way.
...How about you?
There must be something they can attempt
To compel their nations to unite.
They have to strife for their children’s sake.
They should act now and they must do it right.
Maybe a letter enclosing an invitation
For their leaders to gather and shake hands.
It may not be much, but it could be a beginning
In joining their distant lands.
After the handshakes and well-meaning hellos,
Might cause their followers to see.
“If our dignitaries can get along
Then why the heck can’t we?!
I will go help my neighbor.
Every day I will make a new friend.”
These matters concern all of mankind
So that hatred will come to an end.
