WHERE BIRDS GO TO DIE

If she was a bird would she fly into the sun?
Disintegrate in the morning’s glow.
Would she fly above the trees?
Impaled upon the branches.
Could she fly on the wind?
Torn apart by a hurricane.
Should she eat worms and grubs;
Poisoned by the sickly earth?
If she was a bird where would she go to die?

Fly as she could to the highest mountain peak.
Wait for the sun to sent beyond the earth.
Spread her wings to the end that she seeks.
Then stare into the sky for the last time.
