Darkness

It’s a darkness that nobody knows,
Because every darkness is its own.
You try to shine some light in,
As the wall won’t crack to let the light pass.
They say you’re stronger than you know,
Yet you feel so very alone.
They say this too shall pass,
But what if you’re unable to grant access.
Everyday is a constant battle,
That your brain just can’t unravel.
You continually take deep breathes,
Hoping every one is your last.
The hurt you feel inside,
Is unbearable to the fear you feel all the time.
Consciously hearing those thoughts,
And choosing to fight back or not.
It’s those thoughts inside,
That’ll keep the demons alive.
So every darkness is its own,
It’s a darkness that nobody knows.
