Around the Bush
What do I want?
It’s funny you ask;
I never really know, you see.
It changes with the day
And every which way,
But I think I know what you’re expecting of me
Overall, I want to smile and live
Through every joy and pain, learn from mistakes
I know it’s not much to say, a little dream
But for a dreamer that’s sometimes all it takes
Or do you mean what do I see
When I think of life and family?
Quiet, some kids, a happy job.
Teaching others, writing for me;
Ever will I be the poet heartthrob
But we’re still not at the heart of things;
My beating around surely won’t do.
A friend, a companion is all that I want;
And maybe, if you’re asking, you.
