Such gentle curls, so slow to bloom;
In every way I’ll care for you
And feed a little growth each day,
My lily by another name.

Who caught me as I ceased to look
Through the garden, as I had no need
For vibrant colors, oh so sure and grown;
But what was this? A humble seed.

You never think, on a first touch
That something will come to mean so much;
Planted firmly now, and come what may
My lily by another name.
