Just So You Know...

When I’m frozen and rigid
I still wholly love you
I’m just so overwhelmed
I don’t know what to do
It’s not that I’ve simply ceased to care
As a shield, my thoughts end up everywhere
 
I’m not tuning you out,
And I’m not at all fine
I try hard not to pout
So you won’t see me whine
 
I’m lost deep inside
And every piece of news
Makes it harder to stop;
Put yourself in my shoes
 
When every breath
Is a change of plans
It’s hard to keep up
With what life demands.
 
That’s all I really want you to know
When my very being seems to slow
I don’t want you to think I’m hiding in fear
I’m just looking for the words that will keep you near
