Baby doll, now don’t you cry;
Let me peck your cheek and wipe your eyes.
We’ve paid our time, a heavy price
For promises of paradise.

Hush, my beloved;
There’s no need for harsh words.
When it’s all said and done,
We’ll still be love birds.
Flying to each other so we can bring
Happiness and joy, cut off by clipped wings.

Smile now, and sleep tight;
Comfort lying over our beds.
Some day soon we’ll see the light
We’ve lost in blues and angry reds.

Are you weeping; are you seeping?
There now love; I’m not gone.
I’m always there in your heart,
And your presence keeps me upstart
Deep inside;
When I want to hide.

Lullabye, and goodnight;
Wishes for bright tomorrows.
I’ll be here, don’t you fear
To pull you from your sorrows.

Take what advice you will and make it your own; that's what it's there for.
The world's a stage, and we're merely the players.

Thanks Tristan, it makes a lot of sense putting it like that. I shall use your advice wisely :)

Write a lot, learn from the stuff you think is crap and realize even the good stuff can always be better. Write what you feel, what you think you need to say, and don't feel like you need to force yourself to do anything new for the sake of public opinion, This is your work, your outlet; this is your "you", and if you can't be proud of it don't expect anyone else to be. At the end of the day, it's just putting a piece of yourself down on paper. I take inspiration from all the things around me, but when all's said and done I can say that there is at least an originality in it being my voice; the culmination of the thoughts inside interacting with outside forces.

Wow I didn't realise you were only twenty too, you seem a lot more mature from your poems. I'm always open to any advice you have, I'm sure I can learn a lot from you

Be happy you're busy enough in your life that you don't have to XD
However, you're doing fine from what I've seen. Every day is a chance to make something new and great. I certainly didn't expect even a few years ago that I'd be twenty and writing six or seven poems a day; you never know what life's going to bring you :)

Well the hard work is definitely paying off. If I had the time and the patience I would like to be able to put in the same amount of effort as you do.

Thank you, Hawk!
I spend almost every day writing, analyzing lyrics and speeches, and other such things, so I suppose it does me well enough. My ability isn't quite where I want it just yet, however; just a few small things I feel I need to hammer out.
