Luck

Rain-drop on leaf, rheumy-stained;
A single, impenetrable world falling,
Holding, the difference between you and I.
It plays out its hair-tortoise frond fight,
Elongates, encompasses all;
A chance preservation in the push
And pull; a hypertrophic soul.
It fell for this leaf only, directed
Its reflective sighters towards this
Verdant domain, envy of its bowing,
Braying neighbours. And in this union,
This fleeting impact, both droplet and leaf
Reverberate in a mutual commingling
Before the fall away takes precedence
And the drop, holding, falling,
Despising and loving the liminal state,
Lets go,
To be gathered into the unforgiving ground.
