Mona Lisa

Been watching you, watching you smile
It’s been a long, lonely and beautiful while
Soon as you caught me staring you knew
You knew I’d been taken by you
You knew a compliment was due
Not just a compliment, maybe two
Honestly, even that might not do
Ok, let’s just say a healthy few
But I don’t want to sound like a hook
You already know how good you look
I’m sure they tell you everyday
Yeah, of that I’m definitely sure
What’s not included in the things they say
Is how pretty your smile is though

Now I’m what you call a crooner
As you’ll find later, or sooner
I could take you, word by word
Say the sweetest things you’ve ever heard
Or I could just ask you
If I do ask, would you do?
To make you smile, I’ll do whatever I have to
Shit, if it’s what I had to do to see you smile
I’d cross the God damn Nile
I wish I could be Da Vinci somehow
I’d draw a smile on your face right now
A masterpiece that would never disappear
Through joy, pain, heartbreak and fear
Damn, I’d put a smile on that face
One that no grin could ever replace
