O Great Pirate

O great pirate of the water
whose treasures were many
sought, lost and found

You spent your whole life chasing after them
tossed about the wet world aimlessly but driven
like a dog to his buried bones

The salty breath of Summer finds you
raping, stealing, killing, a master at your craft
for this your name be cursed and dismissed
and your quest for something better still unrecognized

This your greatest mark
though your body be wrecked and wounded and
worn down by waves
your spirit remains untouched by disease of the outside world
weathered in flesh and strength in mind are yours

I worship and adore you
for your beauty is your drive
