I watched a star fly over the mountain
It soared like life from an endless fountain
A moth was drawn to reflecting light
Attracted to sparkles on a moonless night
Fragmented conversation had flourished
What high and timeless thoughts they nourished
I observed the seeds bursting; sprouting
An expanding nebula of all my doubting
The kinetics of speech in hands
The gathering of tethered strands
Stories unfolding in searching eyes
A pleasant absence of empty sighs
Contemplating meetings of chance
Recognitions in passing glance
What if chance is actually choice
A comprehension of languageless voice
The beauty of it is still unfolding
In perceptual ways that we are beholding
And this I recited like an endless fountain
As I watched a star fly over the mountain
