The Dancing Lake

Passing by in slow-turn time
Sunshine gleaming
Suspended and streaming
Waving through a window
As a world waved back
In whitecap motion
Swaying hands in a lotus fable
Sitting like a lover across the table
Reaching with a pinnacled tendril
Across the lips of a whisper
To say that in the folds of night
Every bend will have its break
As a thousand beams of quiet light
Blazed upon a dancing lake

A triune of naked women
Adorned in silken mud
Released the world
In a rapturous flood
Singing like sirens
To passing boats
Upon the surface
Where memory floats
Lucid umbrella twirling
Cloud-born dragons swirling
Curling with their cotton tails
To weave a world of skeletal veils
Where questions yearn to reignite
And gently cause the mind to wake
As a thousand beams of quiet light
Blazed upon a dancing lake

Crimson beauty
Attentive eyes
Watching the world ‘neath crystal skies
Like we were inhabitants
On a canvas of words
That read in broken time
And her camera was the silent wind
That stripped away unceasing sound
Releasing what the stars had pinned
Releasing what had bid me bound
Our bodies moved in poetry
Watching trails of thought in flight
Giving what love would have us take
As a thousand beams of quiet light
Blazed upon a dancing lake
