The first of a short series of writings.

There I stood like a relic
That still believed nothing
Could stop the course of our gravity.
Like nothing would stop
The smile I could steal
From the lips that spoke
Those silver-starred words
Of hushed revelation.
And there I stood
While it all passed by
Like a home that lost its heart,
Like a chime without its wind.
