You don’t have to be in distress to pray
Just like you don’t have to breathe to live
You don’t have to be tall to leap
You certainly don’t have to be short to crawl
You don’t have to be loud to sing
You don’t have to be liked to reign
You don’t have to be dry to laugh
You definitely don’t have to be funny to cry
You don’t have to love more than hate
Just like you don’t have to hate to love
You don’t have to be light to see
Just like you don’t have to be dark to foresee
You don’t have to be anything at all.

You could be a moon
A war tractor
You could be a playground
Simple and filled with memories
You could be a tie
Smart looking or knotted
But you don’t have to be all this
Just to make a statement
Be all this in your own certain way.
