Faruk Asan, a very good man
took heed from the great Ataturk -
He came from the land of old Ottoman
by way of his sheer hard work.
In Malvern he set up a kahvehane
then quietly went to his labour,
dispensing Lavazza, not missing a day,
his customers say he’s a saviour!
Before Faruk came to our desperate town,
the dish-water served up in Nero’s
challenged our stomachs to even keep down,
so now we all flock to our hero’s.
Wise folk in these hills now value his skills
and his quick Anatolian wit.
He grinds and distils for minimal bills,
and plays funky tunes as he brews up my hit!
In Turkish, “kahvehane” (kaH vay ha nay) means coffeehouse.
