The line

Taking my pen on a walk today
Let’s see where it may take me
It starts at my wrist and works it way up
And then it gets darker I see
The line is fresh and bold and clear
The nib moves slower with care
It’s up to my finger, it whirls and triggers
A peaceful sign with no fear
The line is steady the marks are made
The truth is in the freedom
The colour is black the pain is red
And the clarity is in between them
This walk is nigh, a distant path
A map is upon my palm now
The guided echo of time past by
A marking of heart ache and sorrow
