A Concidereble Candor

Your shoulders shrug
And your chest heaves a great sigh at the weight of maintaining appearances,
Your muscles twitching in a way that belies your comfort.
Others may not take notice of your burden, but I do.
Would that I could take up the mantle that drowns you,
Be a mirror of placid love, to reflect you as you are,
Which, to me, is in no need of alteration.
