Bruising Love

You sigh my name,
The blood from your split lip lending a silky texture to the sound of it.
Amorously battered, you bat your dark lashes at me.
I could not love you more!
When you take what I give to you,
Freely and with apparent ease,
Though I know it is a struggle for you not to cry out,
I swell with pride for you.
In all our time together, I have found just as much solace as you have, dear.
The discipline of your heart is humbling to witness,
And though it is you who kneels at my side,
I am forever lost in veneration of you.
The fetter around your wrists, ankles and waist,
Do more than a wedding band ever could.
Our marital bed, is a St. Andrew’s Cross;
The collar of My House, enclosing your neck,
Our unbreakable covenant.
