Fluxing Tides

In memory of A.C.

Untimely specter, how you’ve swayed the compass of my life.
The obedience of my North is altered to suit your harrowing gait,
The needle writhing on the plane of your controlling gaze.
The course you’ve set is punishing,
And I am made weary by the merciless friction of your bristling touch.
Where once my mirror stood beside me,
There is only a sanguinary hollow,
Memories poured out onto a sepulcher much too green to be of any use.
