Harpoon

Your words tore through me,
A harpoon into my chest,
To pull me up and out of the darkness,
When I could not move myself.
Your voice pierced me through and through, like a gun shot,
Shattering the shadows of my past.
I was blown apart into rebirth,
The recoil shaking off years of bondage that had swallowed my imagination.
Because of your gift, Muse, I dance loud and raucous.
I sing in cheerful debt to you.
Together, the world will burn with our light,
We will sow illumination into the soul of Mankind.
