The Ties That Bind Us

We enter into this arena of revelry,
With my hands wrapped around your neck, your pulse straining under my palms.
Your arms are stretched out behind you, hands clasped.
They need no binds to keep them anchored, your submission is unwavering.
The floor is solid under your knees, rough and cool against bare skin.
I am overwhelmed with admiration for you. You, my light in the darkness.
When the air rushes back to nestle in your lungs, I bathe in your gratitude.
Your heaving breaths are a dizzying melody to my ears.
The first lash blooms over your shoulder blades, as bright as any a first kiss.
I can feel your desperation growing, a slowly gnawing ache, coiling inside you.
I will give you what you need, I will give you everything.
The outside world cannot touch us here, there is no past or future here either.
Here, there is only beguiling want.
An all encompassing need that devours pain and ecstasy in equal measure.
