GOLDEN TRUMPETS

(a poem for Spring)

The golden trumpets herald in the Spring
and nesting birds in chorus sing,
As all around, brown turns to green
the golden daffodils are seen.
They dance so gaily in the breeze
underneath the sprouting trees.
Soft rain falling all around, coaxing
new growth from the ground.
Winter now is put to rest, as Spring’s green mantle
manifests.
All around, so bright and new
Spring is sprung in golden hue.
Symbols of a new beginning
daffodil trumpets, all are singing.
