WOODLAND SPRING

(a poem for Spring)

The Bluebell wood is a sight to behold
as soft green beech leaves now unfold.
To compliment the azure-blue of (bluebell) bells
so fresh and new.

And underfoot where 'ere we tread
The wood anemone shows it’s white head.
And here and there a primrose seen
in this most beautiful woodland scene.

Green and yellow, white and blue
palest colours, brightest too.
And in the trees the birds all sing
to herald in this glorious Spring.
