Alcoholic
Just for Laughs
once an alcoholic
always will be
the compulsion
an everyday reality
for all the victims
it’s a lifetime battle
and existence simply
a difficult struggle
it’s the ugly truth
for every addiction
it’s not a lifestyle
but a serious affliction
be it smoking, overeating
or drugs and gambling
it’s a brain disorder
always challenging!
so is writing poems!!
sadly another addiction
because the victims
lose sensory perception
oblivious to the world
zombies, victims become!
in their fogged up creative minds
poetic verses hum
so victims are encouraged
to join poets anonymous
unburden their pain
in a site like poeticous
share the verses
that torture their minds
feel the exhilaration
of drawing down the blinds!
