Purple Heart

by V.

Home is foreign to her tongue like a language never spoken.
War is her norm, physically and her emotional knowing.
The battle ground is where she sleeps, left injuries on her soul.
She fears half her creator, she’s the leader of the enemy.
The other half ignored her cries while she waved the white flag high.
Before she could reach, she was betrayed by her team
Her innocents was taken along with the ability to trust.
They kept fighting until she escaped, and finally had enough.
The wombs are still there, lingering like dark clouds.
You can hear them in the back of her voice,  screaming there’s no way out.
She’s found peace ending wars for everyone but her own.
They keep fighting her but she’s not fighting back anymore.
Instead she opens her arms, She has a purple heart filled with everyone’s name
but her own. The grey smoke disappeared.  She’s pure like a clear sky. She feels like a smile after an infinite cry.  We feel her but we can’t see her.  She has a purple heart now that the war is over.  She’s one of a kind.  Wished by every life. She’s selfless because she does not exist. She has not been discovered yet. There for the world. Though we don’t deserve her. Her voice sounds like waves. Her soul is the ocean She’s the reason for better days. She’s the reason we forget to pray.
