What could have been

The lady arrives
Like a daydream, a seraph
ethereal
words laced with grace
She tiptoes lightly– heavy treading
White Wings burdened with love

Blindfolded against the tide
She does not see the tsunami
For it was a desert,
Whoever thought a river could run
Oh how cupid tossed her so!

What’s with you?
No reflection– just a perfect surface
A perfect puppet,
The Lady’s woe
So why, tell me,
did you continue to see
A tragedy–
a Romeo and Juliet!
But alas,
bound but with dirty water from
End to wretched end
of the toy in your palm and the lady’s heart
you’ve done it again

Though, you’ve never believed in the supernatural
Isn’t that right?

(2013)

It is a personal poem but it is open to interpretation of course!
