He fell Harder as She fell First

She fell first; A delicate start,
He fell harder, as love tore him apart.
She fell first; He fell harder,
Now I sit here & ponder,
Which heart bared the strain?

Hold on, Don’t rush to decide,
Whose love was stronger, Whose tears even I can’t hide.
Hold on, as a thought arises, a question to consider,
Was his love a reflection, a mirrored desire?

Perhaps, his love was real, with a future in mind,
A life he saw, a life he hoped to find.
Did he she in her a canvas, a chance to portray—
The dreams he held close, yet didn’t dare to display?

Now he guards the fortress, a monument that is grand,
But grief is a burden, heavy in his hand.
Perhaps the grief’s burden isn’t defined—
By the first fall, as one is always left behind.

One heart will carry the weight, the other was sold,
Love was built, and later lost, A story worth more than gold.
So let the fortress stand, it’s a symbol of might.
A symbol of love that didn’t burn bright.

And now, He won’t mend,
He won’t rebuild, won’t fix his soul
For after love’s war, one is always left alone,
Guarding an empty throne.
