The Burdened Tempest

I am a cloud and I carry my rain.
If it gets too heavy, I’d have to pour it out again.
It’s fortunate to find somewhere to lay,
cradled to sleep 'til it all goes away:
soft sky; a diamond in the air;
a walkable open where I could pace along with
my shape-shifting thoughts.

For society shuns me in my dark.
She thows me out for i ruin the weather,
but when the raging sun is out for a killing,
she calls me back to console her.

The speaker seeks solace and a place to rest, finding temporary respite as their emotions dissipate. The vivid imagery of the "soft sky," "diamond in the air," and "walkable open" reflects their longing for freedom, transformation, and the ability to navigate their thoughts and emotions. However, society often rejects them during times of emotional darkness, as if shunning the cloud. The speaker feels that their expression of emotions disrupts the societal "weather," leading to their exclusion. Paradoxically, when society faces its own struggles represented by the "raging sun," it calls upon the speaker for consolation. The poem explores the themes of emotional burden, release, acceptance, and the complexities of the speaker's relationship with society, all conveyed through the metaphorical comparison of the speaker to a cloud.
