Untitled

Ravenous, greedy, dark demons,
You watch your prey from shadowed corners
In a manner most desperate, patiently.
Soft innocence; when it looks even for a moment
That they should stumble, your mouths,
They foam and ache, your razor fingertips
Shiver and quake; only for you to discover
That the crevasse that tripped up innocence
Was shallow. Innocence recovers
And innocence notices your immediate temporary retreat
And innocence tries to laugh
But curses you and prays for your starvation.
