from the barber chair mirror

from the barber chair mirror
he watches the fear in their eyes
a forty lb coo-coo clock hangs on the wall
covered in a dozen years of dust
the dust isn’t important at all
focus the nail covered in rust
gaze upon the gargantuan timepiece
at noon it falls to the floor, smithereens

in this crowded barber shop
lobby filled with shaggy mops
are two chairs beneath that clock
the loyal customers go in shock
old walls belt out the tune
shaking the nail, stress fills the room
cacophony of clippers, song of coo-coo
KABOOM! Crash! 12 o’clock noon
