Sabotage

For those days when solitude seems like a warm blanket on a cold day.
When her mind seems to wander at a constant rate,  and she is utterly aware of every beat of her heart.
She thinks of everything all at once, and nothing at all.
Wanting darkness and silence to surround her, wanting to run and scream until her body collapses and her voice can no longer be summoned.
Craving affection and tenderness, and yet so terribly afraid .
The mind a jokester, always sabotaging.
She can never live in the present, for the past and future haunt her.
She wears her melancholy like a shield, thwarting off any monsters posing as people claiming to love her.
